Returns are accepted in these instances:
- If the mattress’ factory warranty is triggered due to failure of the mattress under normal wear and tear circumstances, or
- Within the terms of the below 120-day comfort trial.
What is a Comfort Trial?
We want you to wake up happy! A “comfort trial” allows you to try a new mattress with the peace of mind that you aren’t stuck with it if it turns out to be a bad fit for you.
While some people find their very first night on a new mattress quite comfortable, many others need to “break in” their new mattress like a new pair of shoes.
Studies show that often people will experience some level of discomfort with a new mattress. This is normal! Properly breaking in a new mattress in the first month or so is key to it serving you well for years to come.
If you sleep on your mattress for a minimum of 30 nights and it still doesn’t feel right, we want to help you find a solution. Here’s the scoop:
- We will happily offer a one-time exchange up to 120 days after purchase, provided that you initially purchased and used a waterproof “fully-encased” mattress protector from us. It does an excellent job protecting the entire mattress from bed bugs, dust mites, allergens, and accidents.
- The mattress to be returned or exchanged must be in the exact (like new) condition it was at purchase. Your trial period will be voided if the tags are removed from the mattress. Your trial period will also be voided if there are any stains, burns, rips, tears or blemishes on the mattress or if there is a smell of tobacco smoke (or any other smoke). This is standard policy for all mattress manufacturers and dealers.
- Often a mattress will feel much more like the showroom mattress after 4 to 6 weeks of use. Because of that, we absolutely cannot accept returns before a minimum of 30 days have passed since delivery to allow for the mattress to be broken in and for your body to adjust to the new normal. Again, this is standard for mattress manufacturers and dealers.
- The 120-night sleep trial applies to new mattress purchases only. Clearance and floor model sales are final, as are adjustable bases and mattress accessories.
- There is a restocking fee of 15% of the original purchase price of the mattress if a refund is requested. A flat $99 handling fee is charged if the return is exchanged for another mattress. If your re-selection is less than the original price you paid we will offer you a refund of the balance.
- Standard pickup/delivery fees apply if FDM needs to transport your mattress back to the store.
